Hello world!
I just stumbled upon this old video from youtube, very intriguing. I know I've heard this somewhere before, but hey no harm watching it again :)
Haha I find such videos really cool, its like WOW.
This morning, I got woken up by my tuition teacher. That's the first time I've spoken to her since I left the tuition centre like 2 years ago. Well, I met BeeHim some weeks ago while playing basketball with Eugene, but its nice to hear from her again. She called to check on my bro, like where he's been posted to and stuff like weird.
Its funny though, 7 points can't get to Raffles, and I heard that 8 points can't get you to Victoria either. Leslie told me he got into Raffles with 8 points. Time's changed I guess. So my bro has to settle with NJ. HAHA to think that he'll follow in my footsteps.
Oh yeah, and I'm still trying to convince as many of my bro's friends to at least come for the choir auditions, heard from Eugene that even up till now, the choir is still in need of more boys. Well, I'm trying to do my part here, so lets just hope that things will turn out well.
Oh and I just got my army specs not too long ago, full-framed. Real nice to wear and I think I'll not touch my frameless for a while. Its really comfy and not as heavy as I'd expect it to be. And now, I am waiting for Lyn to call for a sushi buffet, cause lil old Darren missed the last one. Oh ya, and Darren is 199 now, 1 more cm to the 2m mark. The nurse that took his height got shocked. HAHA I'd expected that!
Oh well, time to continue with the spring cleaning. Ciao
ken off.
tada, shabbies's back.
Anyway, this few day's been, least to say, hectic for me. With people asking me to go out with them, driving, helping my dad at the office and my mum with new year stuff, there's really not much time for me to do my own stuff.
Anyway, I had driving lessons this morning, a short 1 hour lesson and I think that that lesson, till date, is probably the most successful driving attempt I'd ever had. The whole ride was smooth, no stalls and changing of the wrong gear etc. It feels darn good, too bad its just an hour.
Yesterday I went to SukiSushi for their lunch buffet with Lyn, Leslie, Gene and Paw. I have no idea why Paw's called Paw when his real name's Kelvin. And its Paw, not Paul. Intriguing. When we were there, lil old Leslie couldn't stop eating, I think he ate for like 2 hours straight without stopping. Now that's what I call a glutton, considering his thin build.
AND PAW IS SHORTER THAN MY BROTHER! That's a new. I thought MingKai was the only one who's shorter than him but yeah, good job Paw.
Aloy joined us halfway through with his blond hair. Gheez it just looked darn weird for him to dye his whole hair blond. And I thought he used to call blonds dumb, maybe he's one himself!
Oh and I saw this flirt station outside the Arts Museum a few days ago. What's that supposed to mean?
My new specs are nice. Real nice to wear, real comfy. I don't think I'll be going back to my frameless anytime soon.
Oh well, time to get back to doing my stuff. Finally found this bit of time for myself. Laters
ken off.
Today, I found out the name of the thing that went missing from my blog. Its called a "NaviBar". No idea how that happened, but I guess the html i got my blog skin from totally left it out, and I have absolutely no idea how to put it back. And I can't be bothered learning about HTML, its probably the only thing related to computing that puts me off. Its so bloody difficult to understand, with all the <>{}":!@#%$^&%@!#$(*&@#$%!@# all over the place. YUCKS.
And I realised that I didn't game at all for the entire day, WOW that's a new. Tempering with Virtual PC whole day long, then noticed that it doesn't support accelerated graphics. That means, I can't run games that have been created after the era of Sega's Sonic. BLAH
Went to VMware Workstation because I've heard that accelerated graphics is supported there. How can the big Microsoft be defeated by VMware. Now that's something that you don't see everyday.
I just went to have my army specs made. It looks, real weird. But I have to get used to it I guess. I'm gonna be stuck with it for like the next 2 years. Time to retire the days of frameless. And I found out that the only way to differentiate between boxers and my shorts (I don't have the habit of wearing boxers mind you) is that boxers have a slid in front for the intention of peeing. Or that's at least what I think the difference is. rofl
And VMware installation just hung on me. Guess I have to restart my com
bye.
ken off.
Once again, Shabbies is still not asleep even at this time.
Recently, Shabbies fell in love with a new show, SURVIVOR! Yes I know I'm catching this super late. This probably came to mind while I'm scrolling through the channels at like 3-4am in the morning, only to find the most interesting show to me was Survivor. Survivor Micronesia to be exact. Its the season which pitted the fans against the favourites, and I somehow remembered Ozzy from the previous seasons (His name is just so unique).
He is such a bugger, strong player, good social skills, smarty pants. Guess what, he made a fake hidden immunity idol after he found the real one and scammed Jason into believing that its the real deal. And he's all smirking behind when Eliza plays it at Tribal Council. Now that's hilarious.
Oh and I found myself a new sport that I'd love to learn, though it looks real dumb. Its called "Cup Stacking". Found it while watching TimeWarp. Its so darn cool, to see small kids clearing it in under 7s (I'd probably take up to an entire minute to do it)
Here's the kid on TimeWarp that I found on YouTube
C'mon everyone, applause please :)
O results are out, and my bro did really well, better than me (darn it :P). Yeah he got 7 points, and putting RJ as his first choice, then NJ. I really want him to get into RJ, at least that can fulfill my dad's wish. He'd wanted me to get into it, well, then you guys know how the story went on from there.
CatHigh amazingly, didn't do as well as I'd expected, average L1R5 of 9.1 (at least that's what I understand from my bro). Oh well, better luck next year I suppose. OH YA, Darren took his English retest for O's and he got a C6, well that's at least a grade's improvement from his D7 horror 2 years back. Good job (?)
Oh well, time for survivor again.
ken off.
Someone once asked me about the picture on my blog and msn display pic. Like hey, who's that girl there? And they looked at me with those eyes that says "that's your little sister?" Yeah didn't anyone tell you? Shabbies is mixed blood. I'm like 2% British and I have a lil sister who's totally different from me. HAHA YOU WISH. Its some random pic i got off the internet and looks pretty nice. Blue eyes, bl----uuu--eee--eee. You don't see those often right?
Well, I'm pretty darn bored now, not having the urge to play any games everyday even on my new com. Normally I look forward to using the com everyday after school, but now, when you have the time to do so, you're not doing it. Now that's weird.
Yesterday was a breakthrough in driving for me. I drove back home! With the instructor at my side of course. Apparently I was his last student of the day, so he told me to drive home and he'll drive back from there. Seems that he lives at Yishun, so me driving back home was not much of an inconvenience for him, its on the way anyway. So yeah, I drove 60 on the road, getting overtaken like nobody's business (hey people, I'm only 10 off the speed limit and you guys are overtaking me at speeds much higher than that! bleh.) but the feeling of driving is so darn cool! TOTALLY LOVE IT.
Hmm, I confirmed my driving test on the 22nd Feb, 3 days before my enlistment. This means that I'm not gonna be spending much time on the road before going in. Gheez now that sucked. Oh and I learnt about vertical parking yesterday. Its so simple, piece of cake. The only problem though, I can't seem to align my car straight. Guess I'll just have to work on that.
Awwww man. I really look forward to driving lessons, its just so fun, and gives me an excuse to get out of home, not that my mum's not asking me to go out and not stay at home, at least now my mum has one less reason to nag me about. I WANNA SWIM! But swimming alone's quite boring, at least that's how I feel. Maybe I should get Ben or JiaSheng to go swim. ROARRR.
OH I'M LATE FOR MY MEETING WITH EUGENE!
ken off.
Once again, another midnight post.
Shabbies is gonna get a new lycosa :) Actually, I'm bringing it back to BanLeong for an RMA. Hopefully, they give me a new batch without the same issues, it sucks man, like real badly, to have this problem on such a nice looking keyboard.
You know, somethings are real fun to know about. While showering today, I got the sudden urge to put the toilet seat down after pooping. THEN MY MUM TOLD ME TO PUT THAT THINGY BACK UP AFTER POOPING. Hmm, it seems pretty odd that my mum's telling me to do so, when I remembered clearly that its more courteous to have the seat down, at least do it for the ladies (and hell no, I'm not implying that my mum's not a lady!)
I'd figured I should google about it and guess what, some genius actually did a debate with his wife about it and their conclusion, through mathematical calculations of probability, it makes more sense for the seat to be down, simply because its more likely that when someone (guy/girl) goes to the toilet, the business at hand has to be done with the butt on the seat. Interesting...
Original Post by Sam:

I had this exact converstation with my fiance once. We came up with an answer that made sense to me.
Putting the toilet sead down is a cortesy developed through mathematical probablity and common courtesy. Here's the rationale:
1 - I'm just assuming this one since I have never watched a woman's rest room or taken a survey. Women make up approxmately 50% of the population. Most (if not all - just assuming) women pee sitting down. That means its reasonable to assume that over 25% of all activities related to women relieveing themselves on a toilet occur while they are sittion down.
2 - Most if not all women go #2 while sitting on the toilet. Standing would be too messy. Again, women make up 50% of the population. So that means that 50% of the population relieves themselves while sitting on the toilet every time.
3 - Most (if not all) men go #2 wile sitting on the toilet. Therefor, it is reasonable to assume that men only reqire the toilet seat to be in the upright position while peeing. Men make up approximately 50% ofthe population. Let's assume that men go #2 20% during of their trips to the toilet. That adds 10% to the women's total of 50 of toilet useage while siting.
This mathematical formula states that 60% of the toilet useage for the entire population is completed while in the sitting position. Since more than half of the useage is in the sitting positon, common courtesy states that the toilet seat should be in the lowered position for shared restrooms.
Men don't bother closing the lid in restrooms where only men use the toilet. Why bother? We'd just be making more work for the next guy.

Oh man, pure genius. Shabbies is for once, impressed.
Oh and driving today's been real fun, I finally got to the part about horizontal parking. Its not as bad as it seems, and its real cool to have someone guiding you all the way. When I'm finally confident enough to do it, I cleared it once and only need 1 chance! 1 CHANCE PEOPLE, BEAT THAT. :)
Well, its gonna be a hectic buildup to NS enlistment now, with driving, CNY, and NS preparations to be done, I don't think I'll have time to go out anymore. Nicely done shabbs.
Shabbies yadayadas on
ken off.
In times of crisis, heroes are born. I'm currently longing for one to come to my aid. Hi hero, please?
Oh well, shabbies realised that 小鬼 is actually quite a good singer. HAHA. I'd never expect that. Before that, I know him as the clown of 娱乐百分百. I am surprised. Really, though somehow I think that his sound's a tat too nasal for my liking, but hey, its his trait after all.
Lycosa's a total disappointment. Like really, how bad can a keyboard that runs riot on its own be. YEAH ITS BAD. The keyboard seems to have a mind of its own after a while, like it starts locking keys and disabling others, going nuts with the audio control at the top. Oh wow. And when I thought I found the remedy to it, everyone say hi to the warranty seal. HI!. Dang.
But Lycosa's pretty cool on the touch, with all the fanciful "mirror" feel to it. It looks cool, feels cool, and its functions are devilish. Who'd expected a keyboard to be like that. It beats my Acer default keyboard (which I conveniently forgot the model) flat. Pronto.
Oh and my bro went out to play pool with his friends. FINALLY HE DECIDES TO PLAY IT. You guys will never know how hard it is to convince my bro to play that 1 simple game of pool with my cousin and I. Although I don't dare to say that I'm good at it, but I really enjoy playing it. Its like, such a tactical game, not for the intellectually handicapped I should say. (Hey, shabbies isn't that smart and he's most definitely not bragging)
You know, I really like my new com, it makes everything look so refined. After staring at such a high resolution screen, my laptop graphics look crappy. Really, it somehow looks blur. WOWEE.
Today, I went to the dental clinic to have my teeth cleaned. It looked awful, and I finally found the time to drop by the clinic somewhere near my dad's office. My bro went there to have his bracer mold set. My mum and dad needed implants. ROFL. I seem to be the only person in the family with good teeth. *smirks* Its not cheap though, with my bro's bracers and the 2 clown's implants, adding near a total of 15k. WOW. I never knew dentists earn so much. No wonder dentistry's such a hot course in Singapore, the profits are immense!
And a few days back, Nat spoke to me over MSN. It seemed like we haven't seen each other for ages. Actually the last we met was during CNY last year. I miss the days where we played mahjong at victors. And now, of the 5 guys in 3I, Viet went back to Vietnam and applied for IvyLeague. Victor's fooling around with SuChin all day long. LaoZhang's going into NS real soon. MuQuan's already in NS. That leaves Nat alone. No wonder he bugged me on MSN. HAHA. Hey Nat if you happen to be reading this, peace :) I really liked talking to you.
Oh and I'm listening to JJ's 7th album, 100 Days. Its good, like really good. I'd expect nothing less from you JJ, good job.
Shabbies chatters.
ken off.
Harlo, here's a belated happy new year to you all.
Well, Shabbies feels quite happy nowadays, at least i'm pretty far away from the source of my problems for at least this entire week, and i really do hope that the issue's passed, although i still think that somehow, it will resurface soon enough.
Yesterday night was horrid, could barely get any sleep at all. THIS THUMPING HEADACHE OF MINE IS HORRID. I took a few panadols and fell asleep at 1am, then miraculously (and it usually never happens to me), i woke up in the middle of the night, at like 4am, with my mum still playing mahjong outside. Then, i couldn't fall asleep no more, watched a bit of TV and replied to kerry's message at 5. Rolled about in bed and i thought i finally fell asleep at 7. Woke up at 10 and can't sleep no more. This feeling really sucks when u know that you're tired, and yet, u cant fall asleep. My mind was in a swirl, and i can't seem to concentrate on sleeping. I tried telling myself to sleep, and yet it never happened to me for like 3 whole hours.
Oh and i got my new keyboard, Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition. Best of all, the price is exactly the same as the non-mirror edition. I like the mirror edition more, it looks nicer and feels much smoother on the touch. Really wondering why the price is the same, hmm.
Yesterday i went to play basketball with YuHung, Kimmy, JingKai, Shaun and Eugene. we havent played ball together in a while now, like close to a month and yet, i think we all still played rather well, though i still don't bring the ball in. HAHA perhaps i should really learn how to do it properly, since no one bothers to block me when i approach the hoop with the ball. They all seem to anticipate me shooting from outside. DRATS, DARN YOU ALL.
Driving lessons been pretty fun nowadays, and i really enjoy driving the car. Although i still can't seem to get the clutch control right. Hey its my 5th lesson mind you. I'll be taking my test like before CNY, and instructor says that i will be having lessons like daily in order to familiarise myself with the course and to meet the minimum criteria for number of hours learning.
It really feels good to know that you have a real pal to talk to, at least it lifts a whole lot of crap of you. As i spend time talking to him, it really makes me feel better, now i understand why its good to have a listening ear by your side, even if its truly a listener and not reply little to you. No wonder my cousin likes to bug me to talk with her.
My bro created a new account on HON, called CherryS2. Initially i wondered what S2 meant, and then he told me that it looks like a heart (it does?). And then, S/2 means heart-broken. WOW, and i thought <3 looked more like a heart than S2. Then, darren went crazy with him, he created AppleS2 and paw (another crazy friend of mine), created PeachS2. They are truly, retarded.
My bro's getting his O results back real soon, like next week. I really hope he does well, at least that makes me feel better. Best if he gets into RJ, i can sense that my dad's pretty sad that i didn't manage to keep my place inside, so eugene, you better get a good result and stay in. My mum's been telling him to come over to NJ and join choir. WOW. That's all i have to say, if you really want to join choir, tell me. If not, i really have no idea what CCA you're gonna join in NJ, we don't exactly have the most of choices there.
Shabbies yacks on.
ken off.
